When I created all the Christmas gifts for my close friends, I wasn’t even thinking about how I’d package them. I was just worried I wouldn’t finish them all in time for the holiday. But once they were all done (with some time to spare) I began to worry about how I’d present all the beautiful Cricut crafts to them.
That’s when the lightbulb went on and I asked myself, ‘why not create a DIY Snowflake Christmas Gift Bag to put all these handmade gifts into?!’ So that is just what I did.

I could hardly believe I was able to get all these Cricut projects done and still add a DIY Christmas gift bag on top of that. But it helped that I kept the gift bag design simple and easy. What made it that way? Using just two vinyls and one snowflake design.
The beauty of using a patterned iron-on for the snowflake design was that it gave a variable look to the snowflakes. They weren’t just a flat, one-note vinyl color. It helped too I chose a design that had multiple snowflakes already in it.

But then also the vinyl used for the ‘Merry Everything” wording didn’t pull your attention from the beauty of the snowflake design. That because it was a soft silver vinyl that was there but didn’t stand out from the snowflakes.

DIY Snowflake Gift Bag Details
I was so thrilled with how this paper gift bag Cricut project turned out! It was definitely an amazing finishing touch to all the handmade gifts I created for Christmas. A lot of heart and soul went into the gifts, as did this DIY Snowflake Gift Bag, and I was so proud presenting these to my friends.

Completed Gift Bag
This was the first time I had ever used patterned vinyl and was a bit nervous about it ironing onto the paper gift bag. But it actually ironed on better than some of my plain, color vinyls! See how the slight shimmery silver vinyl wording pairs so well with the snowflakes.
I made this gift bag design two cuts in Cricut Design Space. The first cut was the words and the second the snowflake design. From there I just had to decide on spacing and the orientation of the vinyl snowflakes. After I settled on the design, I think this took me maybe ten minutes to complete.
