Looking for a unique gift idea to get or that you could make? Celebrating handmade holidays should really come back because it’s so much fun to create unique gifts! In today’s post I’m sharing a Unique Cricut Gift Idea Eyeglass Tote Bag. It checks off all the boxes and is easy to make!

Wouldn’t you agree that every year at Christmas time you struggle to find unique gift ideas? Or ideas for that hard to buy for person? Well this tote bag sort of falls into one of those struggles. I’ve got a friend who is sort of hard to buy for; but is more a no-frills kind of person. She doesn’t want or need anything that is not useful.

This friend just so happens to work in the optical field and so this turned out to be a pretty fantastic gift for her. It reflects her uniqueness, it’s useful and it’s handmade!

I gifted this unique Cricut project to the same friend that I had created the Spring Bathroom Decor Gift Ideas Using Cricut for. She loves handmade gifts and I’m happy this gift is so versatile because she doesn’t need to use it just for work; it’s perfect for grocery shopping too!

For this Cricut project I decided to use not one or two but eight different eyeglass design images. One design image was a layered style. But because I wanted the design to be all white vinyl against the charcoal gray bag I just used white vinyl on all layers of that design.

Cricut Eyeglass Tote Bag Details

The best part of this whole project is that there are not a bunch of steps to complete it. I think the hardest part of the whole project was trying to iron out the wrinkles!

To get started I pulled the eight eyeglass frame design images and placed on a new project mat in design space. I then randomly resized each eyeglass frame until I was able to get all of them lined up horizontally and vertically.

Remember to iron the wrinkles from your tote bag before you iron-on the vinyl!

Next I highlighted the whole design and resized to what I needed for this tote bag. Then I used the combine feature in design space and sent the project to cut. Since I combined all the images as one cut file, I was able to iron-on as one piece.

Another piece of advice…when ironing on such a large image be sure to peel back the protective sheet little by little. You wouldn’t want to blindly pull it off and potentially stretch or rip the vinyl if it didn’t adhere to the fabric.
