Personalized Snowflake Initial Stocking Tags Using Cricut
Give your Christmas stockings and gifts a touch of handmade while also getting crafty! Make these Personalized Snowflake Initial Stocking Tags Using Cricut and Target Dollar Spot Finds. In today’s post I’m going to share how I crafted my own personalized stocking tags!

Every other year or so I get in the mode to create as many handmade Christmas gifts as I can. So when I scored these beautiful deep emerald green velour Christmas stockings at Target, I knew I had to customize them! Due to the material the stocking is made from I opted not to use an iron-on design.
Instead I chose to add a Christmas stocking tag. I got lucky again and found these white wood snowflake gift toppers at Target. I knew they’d make great personalized snowflake initial stocking tags!

Since the stocking was so plain the white wood snowflake stocking tag really popped against the deep emerald green of the plain Christmas stocking. Adding the gold vinyl initial was the finishing touch on this super easy Cricut project.
Gathering the supplies for this Christmas craft project was just as easy as it was creating this simple and quick craft. The only pieces I really needed to buy were the stockings and snowflake tag.

Personalized Snowflake Stocking Tags
These Personalized Snowflake Stocking Tags pair really well with the Comfort and Joy Snowflake Fabric Gift Pouch! While these were not gifts for my friends, they were for our own family’s Christmas home decor.

1
Budget Friendly Finds
Before even starting your project be sure to shop around for good budget-friendly finds. I picked up both the green velour Christmas stocking and the white snowflake tag from the Target Dollar Spot. That meant all I had to do was cut and adhere the vinyl and my project was done.
Another tip to keep in mind is to look at your craft finds in a new light. For example, this snowflake was actually labeled as a gift topper. You could absolutely still use it as a gift topper. I chose to use it to label our Christmas stockings.

2
Cut & Adhere Vinyl
When setting up your preferred Cricut cutting machine and before loading your vinyl…check your scraps pile. Each of these vinyl initials were cut from gold permanent vinyl scraps I had saved. Not only was this Cricut project budget friendly I even used up some of my vinyl scraps!
I’d say that’s a win-win!
My tip is when applying permanent vinyl to painted wood, use regular transfer tape and not permanent transfer tape. The reason is because permanent transfer tape is super sticky; that’s what help keep the image on the tape until you rub it off. But, sometimes that stickiness is too much for some surfaces.

3
Attach Snowflake to Stocking
Once all your wooden snowflake tags are finished you can now attach them to the stocking. These ornaments came on a strand of twine so it was pretty easy to attach to the stocking loop. This snowflake tag measures 1-1/4″ in length (that includes the twine hanger).
You could certainly change out the twine for another type of decorative string. I chose to use the tag just as I bought it with the twine. I felt it gave the overall project a little rustic farmhouse feel.
You could also further customize this project by cutting gold vinyl to add the current year onto the back of the wood snowflake.
