Easily create personalized gifts for your friend or loved one using your Cricut machine and Cricut Cuttlebug! These Spring Bathroom Decor Gift Ideas were both budget-friendly and super easy to make! All you need are the blanks to add the Cricut vinyl to (and a gift bag!).

No matter how well we know our friends it can be hard to come up with gift ideas! Lucky for me I’m a huge Cricut lover because that’s my go-to for creating unique birthday gifts and more. I had a friends’ birthday coming up and what inspired this whole project was the soap jar.

With her birthday in the middle of spring I was also inspired by all the plants and trees coming into bloom in all their shades of green. So for these Cricut projects I decided to use white vinyl to complement both the soap jar and the natural wood wall sign.

When crafting projects in spring I love to use white vinyl against natural wood tones because it just feels and looks clean to me. Which makes it perfect for this project because I created these pieces to be used in a bathroom.

Supplies Used

It was so much fun creating these Cricut projects! I think the only thing I worried endlessly about was the wood circle tag strand; to paint? or not to paint? That was the question of the day…or week if you worry like I did! I finally asked my friend which she’d prefer or I’d still be sitting here worrying.

With the worrying over, let’s dive into the details of this Cricut project.

Target Dollar Spot Soap Pump

I love a good Target Dollar Spot find! This one I loved a little bit more because it was made using 50% recycled glass. This soap pump jar has a frosted white look with a sage green silicone base and natural wood topper. So it paired perfectly with the wood circle tag strand.

The best part of the silicone base is that it will help keep the jar from sliding around the counter or sink. The design for this jar was found in Cricut Design Space and cut out of white Cricut Permanent Vinyl.

All that was left to do was place the image down, burnish it on and it was done! Now, on to her next gift.

Hobby Lobby Natural Wood Circle Tag Strand

When creating a Cricut gift idea you can never go wrong with wall decor. I will always suggest using natural wood pieces because they are neutral and will easily fit into any home style or look.

But I wrestled with the choices of whether to paint or not to paint this wood for quite some time. I ended up asking her if she preferred the wood painted or natural…mostly because I couldn’t make up my mind!

Tips For Using Vinyl On Wood

  1. Be sure all edges are smooth and use a slightly damp cloth to wipe off any excess dust.
  2. To make sure you don’t accidentally adhere a letter to the wrong circle be sure to place the letters where they need to be before starting.
  3. For the bath bubbles…as you weed out this intricate design be sure that you have grabbed all the smallest pieces of vinyl in the design. Similarly, as you burnish to the wood, before peeling the Cricut Transfer Tape off too quickly make sure all those smallest pieces are adhered to the wood.
  4. Even though it is suggested to use Strong Grip Transfer Tape with permanent vinyl, I have always used regular transfer tape. This is to ensure no noticeable wood pieces are pulled up with the tape.

You can see in the image above by the time I got down to the letter “T” where the bubbles are placed, even with the regular transfer tape it pulled up some wood dust from the prior letter placements. But not enough to make it noticeable.

Since the wood was a natural finish I also had the option to use Cricut Iron-On vinyl. Since I already had the permanent vinyl out, I went with that option.

Once the project is finished you also have the option to add a small fabric bow to maybe match the bathroom look or color; or leave the top bead area plain for a very natural look.

Happy Birthday Handmade Greeting Card

Of course what gift is complete without a handmade greeting card! This was the last piece I was creating for my friend and it was also the most fun. There are SO many options to choose from when creating a personalized birthday card.

For her card, I kept it pretty simple because I really just wanted it to focus on the beauty of our friendship. For the girl die cut I had this stamp and thin cut from Close To My Heart (which is sadly closing its’ doors). I really love the girl in this set and have used her multiple times.

I stamped the girl on watercolor paper so that I could use (for the first time) my Prima Marketing Watercolor Confetti Set. You could say that I jumped into this handmade card without a plan because that’s exactly what I did! But it turned out beautifully and my friend really loved the personalized message inside.
