Let’s make a simple DIY Rose Floral Travel Coffee Mug with Cricut! It’s perfect for hot or cold coffee and that makes it a year ’round coffee mug! In just a few simple steps you can have this pretty and functional coffee mug.

It’s hard to believe that something that was so easy to make can be so pretty and versatile! It’s that time of year when everything is about florals and blooms (at least for me anyway!). I purposely created this travel coffee mug to pair with my Fresh Flower Market Wooden Toolbox Decor Using Cricut.

While it is not the exact same rose design it’s pretty similar. I also love that it’s just a wee 12 ounce mug which might help me keep my coffee drinking to a minimum..but I doubt it!

Funny story with this project. Before starting this craft I happened to come across some really old Cricut transfer tape in my craft room. I mean, it’s old. Like when the transfer tape was paper…not clear. Yeah. I wasn’t lying about how old it is.

But the funny thing is that it still actually worked perfectly! It wasn’t as easy to see the image through the paper transfer tape but I just took my time when applying the vinyl.

This has to be one of the easiest Cricut Projects to make and it’s perfect for beginners! It’s such a simple craft but it really brightens my day and sets the tone to Create a Beautiful LifeTM!

Plus I can’t say enough about how gorgeous this sea glass sage coffee mug is! I couldn’t even begin to try and describe the color but trust me, it’s beautiful.

Instructions

Like I said, this was way too easy to create. I did a search on Cricut Design Space for a rose image and settled on a single perfect rose. Below are the steps to finish this DIY Rose Floral Travel Coffee Mug.

  • Size the rose image (#M4B4CB4C3) to the coffee mug
  • Cut image from white permanent vinyl
  • Weed negative space from rose image
  • Apply transfer tape
  • Place image on coffee mug and burnish

That’s it! Just remember to place the image far enough down so that your lips are not touching it as you drink from it. Vinyl is not food safe.

Ways To Use

There are obviously too many ways to use this coffee mug and I can’t list them all. But I’ve listed below some of my more favorite ways you could get creative to use this coffee mug. Check them out!

  • Bridesmaids gifts (you could also add their name and/or the name and date of the married couple)
  • Mother’s Day gift
  • Aunt gift
  • Gift to a bestie
  • Birthday gift
  • Coworker gift
  • Gift to a gardener
  • Neighbor gift

My final tip for creating this coffee mug is to remember to hand-wash only. That helps keep the mug looking new. If you are giving as a gift you could place inside a small note to that fact so the recipient knows how to care for their coffee mug.
