4 Easter Bunny Journal Page Inspiration Ideas
Documenting and journaling about the holidays gives you some of the best inspiration when creating art journal pages! Looking for inspiration on getting started? Just take a look at these 4 Easter Bunny Journal Pages created with mixed media, decoupage napkins, stamping and even watercolor!

Each of these four journaling pages has one thing in common…the Easter bunny. Or at least that was the inspiration that started it all! Each page showcases a different technique and even one of them was creating during a Live stream over on the Creative Planning Expressions Community page!
When I create journaling pages I usually like to have a full colored background. I just feel it looks better once you write on it. But with one of the journal pages I stepped out of that comfort zone to leave the background blank or bare. Yikes!

Having a bare page staring at you and not knowing what to write or how to start can be intimidating. The “blank page syndrome” or “bare page syndrome” is real; also known as writers block. This tends to happen when we feel paralyzed or unable to write or draw on a fresh journal page.
In journaling the “bare page syndrome” happens when we fear our handwriting isn’t perfect enough or we lack an idea of how to start. This fear of perfection keeps us from writing and documenting our beautiful stories!
I’ll be the first to say, this happens to me more frequently than you might think. It’s a terrible feeling and there are journal pages that are years old but stick out in my mind because I fear they didn’t turn out “perfect”. So how do you get past it?
While I don’t have the perfect answer I can say, getting creative on your journal page will help you overcome that “bare page syndrome”. It’s a start at least, right?! Below are 4 Spring Easter Bunny journal pages for inspiration to help you get started this season with your journal!

Another technique I love to use on all my journal page creations is to inconspicuously date the page somewhere. If you look closely at each of these journal pages you will see the date either written in or stamped in.

Watercolor Cat and Bunny Nature Journal Page Inspiration Idea
We already talked about the blank page syndrome above, but one way to get the creative juices flowing is to pull inspiration from around you or that is happening to you. That brings us to the next journal page which has a story behind it.
One day while sitting on our deck I noticed a black and white tuxedo cat sitting calming on the stone wall we built around a tree. He was pretty intently looking at something a distance away. I followed his gaze and noticed he was staring at a bunny that was in the next yard. I shook my finger at him/her and said, “don’t you chase that bunny”!
After that I never saw this cat again…but keep reading for the rest of the story.
Supplies
- Sakura Koi Watercolor Set
- Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Brick THMM112
- Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Black Soot

From late 2023 to the early part of 2024 we started feeding a cat that was frequenting our house. For the longest time we weren’t able to figure out if he/she was a stray or not. Then one frigid cold day the cat stopped by for food and while feeding him/her I noticed his back paw was shaking and…I saw blood.
My husband and I sprung into action and setup a large wire crate the next morning. We got lucky because he just walked right into the crate to eat and my husband closed the door. Then we caught another lucky break when we were able to get a last minute saturday morning appointment to see a veterinarian.

Turns out this cat was a HE and something had gotten ahold of his paw and bite down. It took two rounds of antibiotics and treatment to clear up the infection. But, I’m happy to say he is now safe and quite healthy and happy in our home!

Brick Pathway Bunny Watercolor Bleeding Hearts Journal Page Inspiration Idea
I first shared this journal page in the Creative Art Journal Page Ideas Using Watercolors post. But I’m sharing it again because it was just another page where I featured a bunny. We get them a lot in our yard!
This journal page came to be one day after I noticed a small bunny sitting on our brick pathway. Nestled on both sides of this pathway near the porch steps are two very large bleeding heart plants. If you’ve ever seen a bleeding heart plant blossom you know what I mean when I saw it’s just so beautiful!
Supplies
- Sakura Koi Watercolor Set
- Artist Loft Acrylic Paint Metallic White (for the clouds)
- Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Brick THMM112
- Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Vintage Photo
- Crayola Colored Pencils (for the bunny)
- Foam Tape
- Planner Perfect Journal
To create some dimension on your journal page try drawing or stamping out an image and then fussy cut around it, creating a die cut image. Before placing it on the page use either foam dots or tape to raise it up from the page. That’s what I did with this bunny and it made all the difference to the finished look.

4
Pastel Watercolor Hyacinth Bunny Tag Journal Page Inspiration Idea
We all know too well how April of 2020 went down. It was the start of our covid lockdown. Strangely that was when I really tuned into creating journal pages. I felt the need to connect to something…anything and journaling filled that need.
I wanted to created a journal page that centered around this adorable bunny journal tag that I had in my craft room.
Supplies
- Sakura Koi Watercolor Set
- Bunny Journal Tag with ribbon
- Micron 01 Pen Black
- Planner Perfect Journal
I also wanted my page to be light and airy so that is how the pastel background came to be. I had finished the page…or so I thought. Then I got this idea to create small hyacinth plants just starting to bloom.
Every journal page has a story and inspiration is all around us. All we need to do is stop, breathe and decide to take a break and enjoy the nature that is all around us!
