If you love dogs like I do then you will totally get this journal page! Since the creation of this journal page our beloved dog, Lucy, has passed to rainbow bridge. But this journal page serves as a great memory to look back on. For that I am grateful.

I just love creating art journal pages! There just so much room on the blank pages to stretch out and dive into getting creative. You can see what I mean in my Let Freedom Ring Art Journal Page and the Thankful Art Journal Page Using Sunflower Paper Napkins.
Both of those journal pages show the technique of using decoupage to adhere a paper napkin to the page. From there it’s all about getting creative with your art supplies!

- Blank Journal with good quality paper to hold mixed media
- Love Heart Dogs Paper Napkin
- Close To My Heart Stamp & Thin Cuts, Besties-Olivia
- Neocolor II Watersoluble Pencils
- Mod Podge Matte -or- Mod Podge Paper
- Mod Podge Brush Set
With regard to the mod podge you can use either regular matte or mod podge for paper; both will work equally well. The key to the best application is to be generous with the amount of mod podge you put on your page.
Dogs Love Pawprint Decoupage Napkin Journal Page Details
The process of creating a paper napkin art journal page is the same across all projects. That’s why in this post I wanted to just share my finished page, highlight some tips and show how I keep and carry my beautiful journal pages.
Journal Page Layers
- Step 1: Use mod podge to adhere the paper napkin to the journal page.
- Step 2: Use watercolor pencils to add some color and depth to the white page.
- Step 3: Create your stamp image diecut.
- Step 4: Print any photos you wish to include.
- Step 5: Decide on the arrangement of your photos to the diecuts and adhere to page.
- Step 6: Use a paw rubber stamp to create pawprints around the border of the journal page.
