This free printable isn’t new to the freebie library. In fact, it’s been available for at least a few years now. But as I was working through some updates to the printables I realized it was time to update this one.
I don’t know about you, but this year I plan to be better organized for the upcoming patriotic holiday! To help me accomplish that goal is this newly updated Patriotic Red White Blue Planning Page free printable!
It may seem like a pretty straight forward printable…and it is. But I’ve offered some tips below on how to get the most (and best!) use of this FREE printable.
Tips For Using Printables
- Use Frixion Erasable Pens to make it much easier to correct any changes to the original plan.
- Use at least 24 lb bright white paper for a crisp, clean printable.
- If printing for a classic Happy Planner, print at 84% size.
You can find these supplies and more in the Amazon Store for Behind the Designs.

Patriotic Red White Blue Planning Page
This FREE printable has been updated to now include a second page with trim marks for easier cutting. Plus you are not bound to the predesigned box headers. You can easily use whiteout, whiteout tape or sticker boxes to cover them up and write in whatever header you need!
Plan The Date and Time
Seems pretty simple, right?! But, what happens when plans change? That’s why it was noted in the tips above to use erasable pens because when those plans do change…it’s so much easier to erase the old and write in the new!
Plan Fun and Games
Sometimes this is the best part of holiday parties! Plus there is no shortage of ideas for a day of fun and games for the 4th of July. All you have to do is open Pinterest and viola! A great classic festivity, if it’s hot outside, is the classic water balloon toss. That fun will never go out of style!
Plan Guest List
Another great area to use erasable pens because guest lists’ are bound to change. We all have busy lives and sometimes things just come up. You can get a little fancy with your list by using red and blue pens or markers for each name!
Plan Food and Snacks
This is where you will want to plan both the main food dish, as well as, any snacks and sides. You can separate your list with a simple line in between each sub-category.
Plan Shopping List
In this box you can fill in all the food, snacks, drinks and desserts you need to remember to get from the grocery store. Don’t forget to add small things like salad dressing, relish and even decorations. To keep you even more organized you can fill in your shopping list then take a picture of it with your phone and head off to the store.
This works especially well if you don’t want to carry your full planner with you to the grocery store.
Plan Fireworks
While this box was added, it is my hope you will refrain from buying anything other than sparklers. My PSA on this matter is to think of your pets, others’ pets and wildlife. Every holiday that incorporates fireworks leads to hundreds of pets going missing every year. Fireworks can also be harmful to wildlife too because if they get scared they may dart across the street into oncoming traffic.
