Welcome to the New Behind the Designs Blog!
This blog has been in existence since the Fall of 2011, just shy of one year after the adoption of my daughter. I started it as a way to nurture myself and my creativity. At the time, I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do with this blog. Yet, sadly, as time passed I didn’t post much for a variety of reasons.
At one point, the blog presented as a nod towards my handmade jewelry business. But, that still wasn’t enough to keep me inspired to write and so the blog faded into the distance.
Over the next five years, indeed there was much to write about. But, I still wasn’t inspired enough to ‘pick up the pen’ (so to speak) and I began to lose the focus I initially had for Behind the Designs.
Then, on this past Mother’s Day, after finishing a spring door wreath craft project I had been working on, out of the blue, I felt inspired to share and blog about it. And just like that, Behind the Designs was re-imagined.
You can read more about me and how I Create a Beautiful LifeTM well as, read past posts. I hear the BTD Recipes are fantastic! {wink}
I’ve basically been crafting since I was 9 years old. My first craft project was crocheting a scarf that my mother and family member taught me how to do. Ever since then, it’s been in my blood (probably literally, since my mother is a handmade crafter too!).
My one difficulty when crafting is being patient enough to take pictures! I’m so passionate about seeing the finished product that I do get carried away -so that is something I’m going to have to work on. {lol}
So, you’re probably wondering what kinds of topics you will find here on Behind the Designs. Well, here I will share my handmade DIY craft projects, home decor ideas and vignettes (from my own house), planner tips, furniture makeovers, cooking and recipes, papercrafting, charity efforts, photography tips, adult coloring pages (from my personal books), cute pictures of my beloved pets, even a review of nail polish colors (I’m a nail polish addict too! I just love all the colors!) and so much more.
The best way to stay connected with all these exciting topics is to subscribe to the newsletter at the top of the page in order to receive my emails of all my latest blog posts and get the first scoop about any digital printables and freebies.
You can also follow me on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook to see what I’m up to as I Create a Beautiful LifeTM!
See you soon and happy crafting!
